NOTICE OF MEETING – Unscheduled Council Meeting

Notice is hereby given that a City of Ballarat Council Meeting will be held at 6.30pm on 21 July 2021 to be held at the Town Hall, Sturt Street, Ballarat to hear submissions on the following:

  • Council Plan;
  • Community Vision; and
  • Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan

Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Registrations for public representations for items on the agenda must be received by the Governance Unit by 4:30pm on the day of the meeting and can be made by calling 5320 5875.

The agenda will be available from www.ballarat.vic.gov.au the week prior to the meeting. Confirmed Minutes will be available after the subsequent Council meeting.

 

BALLARAT WEST DEVELOPMENT CONTRIBUTIONS PLAN LEVY UPDATE

In accordance with the Ballarat Planning Scheme Schedule 1 to the Development Contributions Plan Overlay DCP01 Ballarat West Development Contributions Plan, Council is required to publish the revised land value and the adjustment of the contributions calculated as at 30th June of each year.

BUNINYONG BOTANIC GARDENS MASTERPLAN

The City of Ballarat is in the process of developing a Masterplan for the Buninyong Botanic Gardens and the Gong. 

As part of this process, the City is seeking community feedback and is inviting any interested members of the public to attend an Open House Drop-In session on Thursday July 15 at the Buninyong Town Hall from 3pm-7pm, subject to COVID Restrictions. Please check Council’s MySay page for any updates. 

An online survey will also be available on Council’s MySay page from 15 July. Hard copies will be available within the Buninyong community at the Newsagency/Service Station, Buninyong Community Bank and Foodworks. 

 

WINTER FESTIVAL

Winter Wonderlights  

Ballarat, it’s time to gather, celebrate and shine with Sovereign Hill’s Winter Wonderlights! 

By day, enjoy all your favourite Sovereign Hill experiences. In the evening, watch Sovereign Hill shine with spectacular sound and light projections bringing the streets and buildings to life through until 18 July. Tickets are booking fast. Book online.

Ice skating

Experience the thrill of gliding across the ice to great tunes and disco lights at the Ballarat Winter Festival's pop-up ice skating rink. 
Located in Armstrong Street South between the Town Hall and Myer, the all-weather rink is open daily until Sunday 18 July. 

Special session times include: 

  • 9am child-friendly sessions every day  
  • 9am sensory sessions every Thursday 
  • 9pm-10pm disco sessions every Friday and Saturday  

Tickets are being snapped up quickly so book ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
