Nominate a special senior for the Ballarat Senior of the Year Awards
The City of Ballarat is calling on all residents to thank an inspirational older person in their lives with a nomination for the 2022 Ballarat Senior of the Year Awards.   The awards are Council’s way of acknowledging Ballarat residents 55 years and older who give their time and efforts back to the Ballarat community.   For our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents, eligibility commences from 50 years or older.  ...

Anne Tudor paved the way for the creation of Australia’s first dementia-friendly forest and sensory trail in Ballarat. The dementia advocate was awarded the Mayor’s Award in the City of Ballarat’s Senior of the Year Awards in 2017 before being awarded the Premier’s Award for the Victorian Senior of the Year in 2021.

Creating a central community hub | ourballarat spring 2022
It’s been a meeting place for the Ballarat community for almost 80 years. Now the Eastwood Leisure Complex is poised for an exciting new phase. The City of Ballarat is seeking $13.7 million from the Victorian and Australian Governments to redevelop the ageing Ballarat Central facility as the Eastwood Community Hub. A new hub would help ensure one of our most well-used facilities continues to serve the local community for decades to come.
