Visitor Servicing Volunteers
Volunteering as a Visitor Servicing Volunteer with the City of Ballarat is a rewarding opportunity to be the welcoming face of our vibrant community - across both the Town Hall Visitor Centre and the Botanical Gardens Visitor Centre.
Why volunteer?
- Be a local ambassador – Share your love for Ballarat’s history, culture, hidden gems, and upcoming events with visitors - a key part of enhancing their experience.
- Connect & engage – Greet tourists at the station or major events, meet-and-greet guests in-person, and offer friendly, personalised advice on exploring Ballarat and the wider region.
- Support iconic locations – Work from two of the city’s main visitor hubs: the historic Town Hall Visitor Centre and the scenic Botanical Gardens Centre, helping deliver valued services and information.
What you’ll do:
- Provide detailed information on attractions, accommodation, maps, local events, and transport options.
- Offer practical support like wayfinding, train and walking tour details, local insights, and first-hand knowledge of Ballarat’s past and present.
- Help maintain a welcoming, inclusive visitor environment - answering questions, sharing brochure materials, and enhancing the visitor experience from the moment they arrive.
- If you're passionate about Ballarat, enjoy meeting people, and want to support visitors in exploring our city, this is the perfect opportunity. You'll play an important role in reinforcing Ballarat's reputation as a friendly, welcoming, and culturally rich destination.
