Ageing Well in Ballarat Strategy
The City of Ballarat is committed to create supportive environments where people can live, work, play, learn and age well.
We are seeking your feedback to help develop the next Ageing Well in Ballarat Strategy and Action Plan.
Over the past four years, we’ve heard from many community members aged 55+ about their needs and preferences - covering communication, access, transport, social activities, and more.
Your input will help shape our actions for the next four years (2027-2030).
You can be involved by:
- Participating in a focus group workshop that will further explore some of the topics that we heard from the community.
- Sessions being held on 18, 19 and 23 June at various locations across Ballarat.

Ageing Well in Ballarat Strategy 2022-2026
The Ageing Well in Ballarat Strategy 2022-2026 outlines our vision to create an age friendly community where people feel valued, connected, included and respected and feel confident to participate fully however they choose.
The strategy is aligned with the World Health Organisation’s Age Friendly Cities and Communities Framework which is being used by communities around the world to ensure practical measure are put in place to help people as they age.
By viewing a community through an age friendly lens like this, city planners, residents, business and service providers can help create a city that meets its residents needs.
Planning for an Age-Friendly City is one of the most effective ways to meet the needs of older residents and delivers benefits to the whole community.
