Nominate an outstanding older person making a difference to our community for the Ballarat Seniors Awards 2024!

The annual Ballarat Seniors Awards acknowledge and celebrate inspirational people aged 60 years and over (and First Nations people 50 years and over), who are making a significant contribution to the Ballarat community.

Ballarat Seniors Awards categories for 2024

Community Service Award

  • For exceptional contribution by an individual to their community    

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Award

  • For an individual dedicated to improving social inclusion, connection and participation for our diverse communities such as LGBTIQA+, Disability, First Nations or Multicultural.

Healthy and Active Living Award

  • For an individual helping to create active and healthy communities through community involvement and as a role model.

Community Teamwork Award

  • For a voluntary group, club or project who have made an outstanding contribution to the community in the last 2 years.

Lifetime Achievement Award

  • For an individual, for dedicated, continuous voluntary service or contribution to the community over many years. (Can include service prior to eligibility age)

From these categories, the most exceptional nomination will be chosen as the 2024 Senior of the Year. 

How do I nominate someone?

In person collect a hardcopy from: 

  • All Ballarat libraries
  • City of Ballarat Customer Service, The Phoenix, 25 Armstrong Street South, Ballarat.

Complete all sections either in hardcopy or digitally. Gather your supporting information including at least 2 support letters from colleagues or individuals in the community.

Submit your nomination by 5pm 16 September 2024

2023 Award winners

Every year, the City of Ballarat calls on all residents to thank an inspirational older person by nominating them for the Ballarat Senior of the Year Awards. The awards are City of Ballarat’s way of acknowledging Ballarat residents 55 years and older who give their time and efforts back to the Ballarat community.
