Ballarat event application guide
Ballarat has many parks, waterways, and sporting reserves that can be used for a wide range of events and activities. To manage these on behalf of our community, event organisers (those responsible for planning and delivering the event), must apply to the City of Ballarat for a permit to use the public space (venue).

Residents can dispose of asbestos at the Ballarat Regional Landfill (by appointment only) on Thursdays between 10am and 12pm. Call 03 5342 8540.Asbestos was commonly used in building from 1940 to 1990. Visit Asbestos Victoria to learn about the health risk and how to safely remove asbestos.

All food premises (as defined by the Food Act 1984) that sell food in Victoria must be registered and need to ensure that the food they sell is safe.Businesses located within the City of Ballarat and mobile food businesses that are stored/garaged within the City of Ballarat must register with our Environmental Health team and comply with the Food Act 1894 before commencing trade.

Ballarat residents are able to claim some of the cost of buying cloth nappies, reusable period products, and reusable maternity breast pads.  The program aims to help with some of the costs of buying these sustainable items. Households can apply for: 50% of the purchase price, up to $100, for reusable cloth nappy products, 50% of the purchase price, up to $100, for reusable period and sanitary products,50% of the purchase...

Green bins are collected fortnightly on the opposite week to recycling.The maximum weight for collection is 70kg. If the bins are heavier, they cannot be collected. If you really struggle to wheel it to your kerbside, then it is too heavy for the arm of our truck.
