2022/23 COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANTS OPEN  

Round 1 of the City of Ballarat Community Impact Grant Program for the 2022/23 financial year is open for applications until 5pm Monday 26 September 2022.  

The applications are available for local not-for-profit incorporated organisations, groups, or associations. Non-incorporated groups may also apply if they have an auspice relationship with an incorporated group.  

Applications are now being accepted for the program, which provides up to $20,000 in funding to support community groups and organisations to run projects, programs, events, and other activities or to buy necessary equipment to promote community outcomes in:  

  1. Environmental sustainability   

  1. Healthy, connected and inclusive communities   

  1. Community capacity building  

It is recommended that you submit your application during business hours in case you need any help or support.

2022-23 RATE PAYMENT OPTIONS AND PENSIONER CONCESSION  

Rate payments - The following rate payment options are available in 2022/23:     

  • 10 monthly instalments - available via direct debit on the 15th of each month from September 2022 to June 2023.    Direct debit applications close on 12 September 2022   

  • Quarterly instalments by 30 September 2022, 30 November 2022, 28 February 2023 and 31 May 2023      

  • Lump sum payment by 15 February 2023.     

Pensioner concession - If you hold a pensioner concession card, you are entitled to apply to the City of Ballarat for a State Government-funded concession of $253.20 for your rates and $50 for your Fire Services Property Levy (FSPL). *Please note, if you’re a Health Care Card holder, you are not entitled to a rebate or concession for Council rates or the FSPL.

You can pay in person at any Australia Post branch or the City of Ballarat Customer Service Centre at 25 Armstrong Street South, Ballarat Central.

Victoria-Albert Streets Precinct Streetscape Improvements - The project aims to deliver a greener, safer and more accessible precinct for Sebastopol residents and visitors.   

As a local resident and/or visitor to the precinct, the City of Ballarat is seeking your feedback on the proposed design. We want to know: 

  • Does the proposed design make the precinct easier to use? 

  • Is there something else that you think would make the precinct more usable, safer, or welcoming? 

  • What would you change, if anything, about the proposed design and why?

City of Ballarat Inclusion Framework and plans – the framework and associated documents are available to view and comment on via the mySay page. There are also two remaining drop-in sessions available to come and see the Inclusion Framework and plans and to talk to Council Officers about them:  

  • Thursday 8 September, 3.30pm - 5pm, Ballarat North Community Centre 

  • Thursday 15 September, 4.30pm - 6pm, Sebastopol Library 

Hard copies of the documents are also available to review and pick up from City of Ballarat Customer Service desk (in the Phoenix Building) and at the Ballarat, Sebastopol and Wendouree Libraries.
