2012-2013 Budget Submissions. 

The City of Ballarat’s 2012 - 2013 Budget will invest in a range of projects that are important to the Ballarat community and will secure a strong future for Ballarat.  Council would like to invite individuals, community groups and organisations to make a submission on the 2012 – 2013 Budget.  Further information and budget submission templates are now available online. 

Roy Morgan Research Survey Results. 

Roy Morgan Research conducted phone and focus group surveys during December 2011 on the Ballarat community’s views on proposals for the Civic Hall.  The reports will be formally provided to Council on Wednesday 8 February 2012.  Here are the results :

When Rain Saves You Money... 

The City of Ballarat commissioned a consultant to undertake a study of the benefits of rainwater tanks plumbed to buildings in the Ballarat region. Connecting a rainwater tank to your building can save up to 40% of your water use!  Find out more about water conservation and get your copy of the report!

Victoria Park Community Visioning Project

The Victoria Park Community Visioning project aims to set the direction for the park for at least the next quarter of a century. Council currently has a broad management plan for Victoria Park, but this plan doesn’t capture the potential of the Park, nor does it outline which parts are working well and how to better use areas that are currently underused.

Draft Environment Sustainability Strategy up for comment 

The City of Ballarat’s draft Environmental Sustainability Strategy (ESS) is now available for public comment.

The Strategy outlines Council’s framework for a more sustainable future through a set of practical initiatives aimed at making Ballarat a leader in its management of the natural environment and sustainability.

Summer Sundays 2012

Pack a picnic and enjoy summer in Ballarat's Botanical Gardens at Council's FREE 'Summer Sundays' event. Previously known as 'Arts in the Park', the event has a new name and a new location.

'Summer Sundays' will be held on 8, 15, 22 January from 5 to 8pm and 29 January from dusk.

Harmony Fest 2012

Come along and enjoy a cultural celebration feautring world music and dance at Harmony Fest 2012 on Friday 10 February. To be held in Alfred Deakin Place, Camp Street. the free event includes a vibrant live concert and a vibrant cultural marketplace with food, craft, cultural workshops, children's activities, visual arts and craft and much more.
