Youth Awards 2026
The City of Ballarat Youth Awards provides the opportunity to recognise and celebrate our city’s outstanding young people aged 12-25
Since 2005, the Ballarat Youth Awards have recognised the leadership, creativity, kindness, and dedication of young people aged 12-25, as well as the influential adults who support them. Planned and managed by Youth Events Team, a volunteer group of young people passionate about event planning, the awards are an annual highlight for the city’s youth.
Nominations open for 2026 Youth Awards
Young people across Ballarat are making a positive impact every day. The Ballarat Youth Awards, returning in August 2026, will celebrate their contributions and achievements.
Since 2005, the Ballarat Youth Awards have recognised the leadership, creativity, kindness, and dedication of young people aged 12-25, as well as the influential adults who support them.
Planned and managed by the Youth Events Team, a volunteer group of young people passionate about event planning, the awards are an annual highlight for the city’s youth.
This year’s theme, ‘Making Ripples, Making Waves’, highlights young people creating meaningful change and contributions in the community, and that even small acts can have far-reaching effects.
Maggie, a Youth Events Team volunteer, explains, “The annual Youth Awards are a fantastic way to recognise the young people in our community who are ‘making ripples, making waves’, creating lasting positive impact for us all. The event showcases the leadership from young people present in our very own Ballarat community, causing a ripple effect to inspire action from other young people.”
There are 10 award categories spanning leadership, sport, volunteering, creativity, inclusion and personal growth, with two Major Award winners selected from all youth nominees.
Nominations open from 9am Friday 15 May 2026, and close 11:59pm Sunday 21 June 2026
