ROAD CLOSURE – 2021 Remembrance Day Commemorative Service

For the safety of participants and all road users, the following traffic alterations will be in place; 

Sturt Street will be closed from Dawson Street to Raglan Street in both directions to all traffic from approximately 8am to 1pm on Thursday 11 November 2021 for the Remembrance Day Commemorative Service at the Ballarat Cenotaph.

West bound traffic on Sturt Street will be diverted at Dawson Street and East bound traffic on Sturt Street will be diverted at Raglan Street.

Lyons Street South will be closed at Dana Street to Sturt Street with access for local traffic only.

Lyons Street North will be closed at Mair Street to Sturt Street with access to local traffic only.

Traffic detours will be in place along Dana Street and Mair Street. 

Road users are requested to approach the area with caution and follow the direction of marshals and police.

 Pedestrian access to shops and services will be maintained.  

 COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANT PROGRAM 2021/2022 – ROUND 2

Applications are being accepted to the second round of the City of Ballarat’s Community Impact Grant Program.

The program provides funding of up to $20,000 to support community groups and organisations to run projects, programs, events and other activities or to buy necessary equipment to promote community outcomes in the areas of:

  • Environmental sustainability
  • Healthy, connected and inclusive communities
  • Promoting community-focused economic outcomes, delivering innovative responses to issues and opportunities, and strengthening community resilience

CHRISTMAS IN BALLARAT – Road closure

The pop-up green space in Albert Street will return for this year’s Christmas in Ballarat campaign.

Albert Street will be closed between Sturt Street and Lewis Street (south bound) from Thursday 18 November 2021 for the installation of the new Santa’s Workshop and pop-up green space. The road will reopen on Tuesday 4th January 2022.

NEW COVID REQUIREMENTS FOR COUNCIL VENUE VISITATION

In line with Victoria’s Roadmap, visitors aged 16 and above to the Art Gallery of Ballarat, Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre (BALC), Ballarat Libraries, Eureka Centre, Ballarat Information Centre, Customer Service at The Phoenix and Her Majesty’s Ballarat will need to have received both COVID-19 vaccinations and provide verification of their vaccination status or have a valid medical exemption. 

Residents and visitors can show they are fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 digital certificate displayed through the Service Victoria app, Medicare app or equivalent smartphone wallet, or present a printed version of their certificate or immunisation history statement or provide evidence of a valid medical exemption. 

Residents and visitors can add their COVID-19 digital certificate to the Service Victoria app through MyGov or the Express Medicare Plus App.
