BALLARAT REGIONAL SOCCER FACILITY ADVISORY BOARD: COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVE 

  

The City of Ballarat is responsible for the management and ongoing governance and strategic direction for the Ballarat Regional Soccer Facility. 

 

An advisory Board comprising representatives of the user groups and independent community members and chaired by a Councillor oversees the direction and future opportunities and plans for the facility. 

 

The City of Ballarat is currently seeking expressions of interest from persons who would be able to provide independent advice to the advisory board with expertise across governance, sporting administration, marketing, strategic planning or business would be highly regarded. 

 

The key responsibilities of the committee are to assist Council in the long-term use, development and planning of the precinct including:  

  • Facility development and forward planning

  • Sourcing of appropriate funding to achieve facility development and improvement

  • Asset management,  

  • Financial sustainability 

  • Partnership opportunities

  • Policy issues with respect to services

 

Interested people should submit a written expression of interest to markpatterson@ballarat.vic.gov.au prior to Monday 11th March 2024. A copy of the advisory board terms of reference can be requested via the same email address.   

 

MARKET STREET 

 

Doveton Street North will be closed between Creswick Road Roundabout and the car-park service road exit to all traffic from 29 January until 9 February 2024. Works are dependent on weather and unexpected delays.  

  

Detours are in place, please follow the electronic signage and traffic management. Thank you for your patience.  

 

CLOSURES BRIDGE MALL 

 

Due to the construction at the Bridge Mall redevelopment, Time Lane will be closed from 31 January 2024 until 14 February 2024, and Foundry Way from 14 February 28 February 2024. Alternative access will be via Coliseum Walk and Peel Street. 

 

SKATE PARK LEAGUE COMPETITION 

 

The City of Ballarat’s Youth Development team in partnership with the YMCA Action Sports Skate Park Leagues will host a competition for skate, scoot, roller and BMX riders on Saturday, 10 February at the Len T Fraser Reserve Skatepark on Main Road and Barkly Street, Bakery Hill. 

 

The competition will run from 11am to 4pm and is free to enter for all ages and abilities. Food and drinks will be available to purchase at the event. For more  information contact 5320 5500.
