A very happy new year to all Ballarat residents!

In December we launched the Summer of Fun in Ballarat, our campaign in partnership with local industry to promote our city as a visitor destination.

As part of the Summer of Fun, the City of Ballarat’s popular Summer Sundays is back from this weekend with an awesome line up of artists and a very different format. Live and local, over three weekends in January, Summer Sundays is partnering with three of Ballarat’s major attractions, Sovereign Hill, Kryal Castle and the Ballarat Wildlife Park to deliver the popular live music events.

Each Summer Sunday concert will be live streamed via @summersundaysballarat Facebook page showcasing Ballarat’s attractions and promoting Ballarat as a perfect Summer destination to an expanded audience.

Featuring headline acts including Clare Bowditch, Ella Hooper and the Ross Wilson Trio, along with local artists, the 2021 program will appeal to a broad audience. It’s not often jazz, pop and rock concerts are presented in the company of kangaroos and koalas, jousting knights or amidst the hustle and bustle of an 1850s township! The pairing of Summer Sundays concerts with Ballarat’s local attractions is part of the City’s concerted approach to encourage people to visit and support Ballarat businesses this Summer.

The fun starts this Sunday 10 January from 2.30pm to 5pm at Sovereign Hill, with a performances from Clare Bowditch, CW Stoneking and Juan Alban. You can get all the details about who is on each week by visiting the Summer Sundays Facebook page.

Don’t miss it!
