The City of Ballarat is partnering with the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival to deliver Ballarat Unlocked, a 10-day celebration of eating and drinking in regional Victoria.

Ballarat’s food scene continues to evolve, and we look forward to showcasing our amazing local offerings to foodies from far and wide.

There’s never been a better way to take in the rich history and charm of Ballarat.

This program is headlined by the World’s Longest Lunch at The Goods Shed on 11 November and will be a celebration of Ballarat’s thriving food and wine industry.

You can even dine underground, in the iconic mines of Sovereign Hill, whilst enjoying a gold smelting demonstration.

The celebrated Thai restaurant, Mr Jones will host a dinner amongst the collections of the Art Gallery of Ballarat.

A sunset dinner on the beautiful Lake Wendouree is also on offer, where you can enjoy food by Vesta x Jigs at the Ballarat City Rowing Club.

If you want to explore the different types of beer Ballarat has to offer, you can enjoy a four-course meal with matched beers at new distillery, Grainery Lane.

For a truly memorable experience, you can have a five-course degustation, complete with matched wines delivered in the basement of the Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute. Once Upon a Time, is brought to you by Peasant, and is accompanied by an ethereal performance by local musician Amie Brulee.

Renard is hosting a gin afternoon on Saturday 11 November and Mitchell-Harris Wines is hosting lunch the following Sunday in partnership with our new First Nations gallery, Perridak Arts.

There is so much on offer, with our incredible food and wine scene really showing off to visitors across Victoria and beyond. Why not have a look at what’s on offer, invite some friends to Ballarat and book a night out?
