Some changes to traffic management in the area will be in place for the duration of the Ballarat Winter Festival.

The Ballarat Information Centre long vehicle / caravan parking at rear (south) of the Town Hall will be temporarily relocated to the front of the Town Hall in Sturt Street.

The Taxi Rank outside Myer will be temporarily relocated to two angled quarter-hour car parks out the front of the Central Square Post Office and Armstrong Street South.

While the snap lockdown and return to some COVID restrictions in regional Victoria have affected events in the region, the best place to stay up to date about Winter Festival events on the Winter Festival website.

City of Ballarat Mayor, Cr Daniel Moloney, said we can all look forward to the wonderful warming program of events to keep us entertained and out and about this winter.

“There are so many great events and features to the 2021 Ballarat Winter Festival and, with restrictions easing, we can all anticipate a fantastic festival.

“From the Knights of Fire at Kryal Castle and Sovereign Hill’s Winter Wonderlights, to Ballarat businesses putting on winter specials and deals just for the festival, there will be something to keep everyone warm and happy in our city.”

“It is so important for locals to get out and support their region, whether that be by visiting Winter Wonderlights or one of our other great attractions, eating out at local restaurants, and heaps more.”

“As restrictions allow, I encourage all Ballarat residents to invite at least one family member or friend from out of town to visit this winter. If every local adult invited one visitor to join them eating out or visiting one of our attractions or events, we have a great opportunity to help our businesses bounce back from an incredibly tough lockdown.”

The City of Ballarat events team continue to monitor the evolving COVID-19 resections in Victoria to ensure the festival is up to date with the latest safety guidelines and protocols.
