Deputy Mayor’s Message - Friday 10 January 2025

I would like the opportunity to wish all our residents a happy and healthy new year.  

Didn’t we bring it in in style in Ballarat!? The glorious fifteen-minute fireworks show was seen by up to 30,000 people around the lake, it was great to see so many enjoy the family friendly spectacle at 9.30pm around Lake Wendouree. I can imagine many others took the opportunity to watch from a bit further afar.  

And now that January is upon us, the holiday vibes keep on coming with the wonderful Summer Sundays kicking off this weekend.  

Why not spend your Sunday afternoons this month soaking up the sun in the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, with live music – featuring household names and emerging talent – food trucks and a pop-up Garden Bar.

With such warm weather, and the Grampians fire in our region, it is a timely reminder to be fire ready and aware. Check out the tips from our Emergency Management team, to
