First tender advertised for Ballarat Sports and Events Centre upgrades

The first of three phases of upgrades to be rolled out at the Ballarat Sports and Events Centre (Selkirk Stadium) have been advertised for tender.
The phase one tender includes electrical works, speaker upgrades, scoreboard improvements and installation of additional CCTV.
This will be followed by phase two and three tenders to be advertised in 2025 that incorporates court lighting upgrades, broadcast capability updates, roof works, improved accessibility, and external pedestrian access works.
The project is a partnership between the Victorian Government and City of Ballarat.
City of Ballarat Mayor, Cr Tracey Hargreaves said this is an important milestone for the facility upgrade.
“It is exciting to see Selkirk Stadium’s upgrade one step closer with the first in a series of upcoming tenders,” she said.
“Once a contractor is selected it means we can start to plan for the works, get a clear timeline locked in and things will start to really take shape.”
It is anticipated the phase one tender will be awarded in September, with work to commence shortly after.
Minister for Community Sport, Ros Spence said it was an exciting time with the release of the first tender.
“The upgrades to the Ballarat Sports Events Centre will deliver a modern sporting venue for the Ballarat community for years to come and we are getting closer to construction kicking off,” she said.
