City of Ballarat Director Corporate Services appointed

Statement from City of Ballarat Chief Executive Officer Evan King:

I am pleased to announce a new appointment to the City of Ballarat’s senior leadership team. 

Experienced finance and information management professional John Hausler has been appointed Director Corporate Services.

John has a Master’s in Management Information Systems, a Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance & Accounting) and is a Certified Practicing Accountant.

John has considerable experience working across a range of levels of government, resulting in a strong practical understanding of governance principles and extensive skills in leading teams across a number of diverse functional responsibilities.

John has been the Director Corporate and Community at the Macedon Ranges Shire Council since 2017.

Previously, John was the Director of Corporate and Community Services at the District Council of Loxton Waikerie in regional South Australia.

He has previously worked for the South Australian Water Corporation, and the South Australian Department of Treasury and Finance fulfilling a number of key roles that provided key financial and economic information to support decision making of boards, cabinet and government ministers.  

John will commence with the City of Ballarat on 19 July 2021.
