Proposed Staff Changes Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre (BALC)
The following statement is in response to questions from various media regarding changes at the Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre.
An independent financial and operational review of the Ballarat Aquatic & Lifestyle Centre (BALC), which was commissioned in January 2020, has been completed.
The review recommended developing a structure in line with industry standards that will optimise the experience and health and wellbeing outcomes of patrons.
A number of changed positions and a new position will be created as part of a planned organisational restructure at the facility, however the City of Ballarat has informed BALC staff that some existing positions are likely to be removed.
In line with the Ballarat City Council Enterprise Agreement No. 8, 2019, staff will have the opportunity to provide their views on the new structure before a final decision is made.
The proposed staff changes are in no way connected to the recently released Susan Halliday Report into organisational culture.
