The $9.9 million facility provides a valuable asset for the rapidly-evolving western suburbs, boasting three kindergarten rooms that can accommodate 99 children at a time, as well as two further community rooms, a meeting room, and associated staff facilities. Opened in February 2024, the project was supported with $2.25 million from the State Government’s 2022-23 Building Blocks Capacity Building Grants.

Providing an integrated local and accessible community facility to cater to the growing population of Ballarat West, the community hub accommodates a diverse range of users, fosters a sense of place, and ensures kindergarten infrastructure in the area meets demand.

The kindergarten rooms support children in Alfredton and surrounding areas to be ‘school ready’ and cater three-year-old and four-year-old kinder.

The community meeting spaces publicly available service the growth areas and provide spaces for education, training, events and social connections.

Hub features include:

  • Meeting room - Capacity: 10 seated
  • Community room 1 - Capacity: 60 seated/100 theatre style or standing
  • Community room 2 - Capacity: 18 seated
  • Three-room kindergarten facility

These spaces have access to AV functionality, fully equipped kitchen, concierge/reception at the entrance, informal lounge space, public wifi and outdoor garden terrace.
