Message from the CEO
Ballarat is known as a creative and innovative city. Those attributes have come to the fore during the COVID-19 pandemic with our business and tourism sectors finding ways to reinvent themselves and finding new ways to deliver their products and services.
Supporting our tourism sector
Never before will Ballarat’s ‘visiting friends and relatives travel market’ be more relevant than when Victoria comes out of restrictions. That’s when our local residents will be encouraged to extend a lifeline to our tourism attractions in a show of solidarity and support.
A dedicated group of volunteers is recycling bikes and donating them back to the community. The City of Ballarat is partnering with this Y Ballarat initiative to encourage more primary school students to walk, ride or scoot to school when restrictions ease.
Youth Council builds a brighter future
The City of Ballarat Council is part of our everyday life. It is involved in many aspects of our city. But did you know there is another Council in Ballarat? The City of Ballarat has a Youth Council, which is working to enhance opportunities and outcomes for Ballarat’s youth.
A golden opportunity
The Art Gallery of Ballarat’s latest exhibition, The golden pantomime, is a bold and vibrant celebration of domestic spaces and the rituals of everyday life.
Protecting our heritage places
Behind the red brick facade of Dinah McCance and Terry Baker’s Ballarat East home lie thousands of stories from Ballarat’s past.
