Mayor’s Message - Friday 8 December 2023
It was great to see so many enjoying the third instalment of the Spilt Milk festival in Ballarat last weekend.
More than 40,000 people attended the festival in Victoria Park, with many travelling to our region and staying in Ballarat.
Accommodation was hard to come by in Ballarat, with many hotels, apartments and camping facilities full for the weekend.
Events like the Spilt Milk festival cements Ballarat as a destination city. I’m thrilled we are able to attract such quality, large-scale events to our city.
Despite the dreary weather on Saturday, the city was abuzz with many visitors and festival goers.
By the end of Friday 8 December, all road closures and disruptions to the park will be completed.
We would like to extend our thanks to all Victoria Park user groups and individual park users for their cooperation and flexibility surrounding the Spilt Milk festival.
We now look forward to our Summer of events that make Ballarat such a great place to be in January.
Stay tuned for events in the new year such as Road Nationals, Summer Sundays, Picnic in the Park festivities, Survival Day Dawn Service, the Bowls Victoria 2024 Regions Sides Championships, plus much more.
- Mayor Cr Des Hudson
