Sebastopol Community Hub (interim name)
Project overview
The Sebastopol Community Hub Project will bring enormous benefit to the southern suburbs of Ballarat with construction of an integrated community hub. Once complete, the facility will provide a new home for the Sebastopol Senior Citizens and community groups that used the former Sebastopol Senior Citizens Centre, include a 66-place kindergarten, Maternal and Child Health consulting rooms, and provide spaces for community groups and organisations to run activities, programs and services for the community.
Project update: 27 November 2025
The construction of the facility is now fully complete, including the building, surrounding carpark and landscaping.
Contractors Nicholson Construction has handed the facility back to the City of Ballarat, with the project complete more than a month ahead of time.
The City of Ballarat is currently in the process of making the building fully operational for the community.
This includes installing technology, furnishings, security systems and other elements that will be required for its functionality.
The building is expected to be officially opened before Christmas this year, with the public able to gain access from January 2026.
