The new Grants Policy replaces the previous ad hoc sponsorship and funding arrangements.
This policy provides a more consistent, streamlined approach for community groups and organisations seeking funding for programs, events, products and services that bring a wide range of social, environmental and economic benefits to Ballarat.
Tourism Events Grants Program Up to $25,000 for projects, festivals, events or activities that advance and encourage increased visitation, participation and yield and/or contribute to the presentation or marketing of Ballarat as a tourism destination of choice. Applications will be considered from not-for-profit and for-profit organisations and businesses. Specific assessment criteria applies regarding value for money, increased visitor numbers, and increased yield. This assessment criteria includes sporting events. Please see the Grant Guidelines. Community Impact Grants Program Up to $10,000 for projects that develop partnerships with the community and provide sustainable opportunities for participants and/or projects where the grant money assists in either the implementation of projects, events, activities, or in funding non-fixed capital items and equipment. This grants program is open in four rounds, with programs to be placed on hold when funds are fully allocated. Round One has closed and applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application in October. Round two applications are open from Sunday 1 October until Tuesday 31 October.
