Immunisation is a simple, safe and effective way of protecting children and adults against vaccine preventable diseases.
The City of Ballarat immunisation service is offered to ensure the health and wellbeing of every resident in our community by reducing the incidence of vaccine preventable disease. This service provides a number of immunisation programs throughout the Ballarat region including childhood immunisations.
A new childhood immunisation service began on 1 July, 2012. This will replace the service previously provided to babies and children through the Maternal and Child Health service.

The School Entry Immunisation Certificate & Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR)
The Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR) is a national database that keeps a record of your childrens' immunisations up to the age of 14 years. Immunisation providers report your child's vaccinations to ACIR. A history statement of all your child's immunisations is automatically posted to you at 1, 2 and 5 years of age.
The Australian Childhood Immunisation Register posts a school entry certificate to parents on completion of 4 year old vaccines. If for some reason your child's immunisation records are incomplete, missing or your child has never been vaccinated, contact your local council immunisation service.
Immunisation Records
Immunisation records are kept by the City of Ballarat for vaccinations provided by the City of Ballarat immunisation programs. A statement can be provided on request. Our records do not include immunisations carried out by other health providers eg. your local doctor or Community Health Centre
