Approved Amendment and Planning Permit for the Redevelopment of Peter Stevens Motorworld, 208-210 Lexton Street and 615-619 Creswick Road, Wendouree

The Minister for Planning has now approved the Amendment C186 to rezone the land to Mixed Use Zone and has granted the planning permit PLP/2014/520 for the redevelopment of the Peter Stevens Motorworld car sales site.

The planning permit was approved in line with the recommendations from the independent planning panel which was held on 2 June 2015. These recommendations were adopted by Council on 22 July 2015.

 

What does the Amendment and Planning Permit Allow?

The Amendment rezones the land at 208-210 Lexton Street from the General Residential Zone, Schedule 1, to the Mixed Use Zone.

The amendment was combined with a planning permit application (PLP/2014/520) that was assessed concurrently. The planning permit allows:

  • Use and Development of the land for retail premises (car sales) including the redevelopment of the existing showroom, workshop and office
  • Erection of signage
  • Variation to requirements of Clause 52.14 to allow additional crossovers (4 in total), greater office floor area (exceeding 19 square metres), vehicle repairs and modifications to landscape buffer requirements
