Navigators Road and Warrenheip Road

The following statement is in response to enquiries from The Courier regarding the works at the intersection of Navigators Road and Warrenheip Road intersection, and construction of a roundabout on Remembrance Drive and Ring Road.

The works at the intersection of Navigators Road and Warrenheip Road are due to start in mid-October, with an estimated construction period of 10 weeks.  

The City of Ballarat conducted a targeted letter drop to nearby residents and businesses with no objections. 

The construction works were advertised for tender submissions from 19 May 2022 and closed on 8 June 2022. The project is budgeted to cost $1,089,452.00.  

The works are funded in part by the Federal Government Roads to Recovery Funding $766,452, and the remaining $323,000 from the City of Ballarat Budget 2022/23.  

The City of Ballarat statistics show no crashes for this intersection. The City of Ballarat have completed 8 signage updates at the intersection since 2017 which includes line marking.  

A roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Ring Road and Gregory Street West this financial year. The tender is yet to be awarded. The works are being partially funded by Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program funding and City of Ballarat funding.  

This upgrade is designed to improve travel connections for motorists between Gillies Street to Ring Road and Link Road. 

The Remembrance Drive roundabout works are currently in design phase.
