BALLARAT HERITAGE AWARDS

ENTRIES FOR THE 2012 BALLARAT HERITAGE AWARDS ARE NOW CLOSED. Presentations will take place on Friday May 11th.

The Ballarat Heritage Awards were first launched in 2010, a key recommendation of Council’s ‘Preserving Our Heritage Strategy’.

The awards are held by the City of Ballarat in partnership with the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) and the local Ballarat Branch of the National Trust.  The awards have grown since their inception and are held by a number of local Councils and National Trust branches across Victoria.

The Ballarat Heritage Awards recognise those in our community who have demonstrated excellence in retention, restoration, enhancement and reuse of our heritage places.

The awards program recognise a wide range of achievements in the:

  • Creative reuse of a heritage place
  • New work/development within a heritage area
  • Restoration of a heritage place
  • Specialist heritage trade skills
  • Sustainability and/or greening of a heritage place

The awards are open to domestic and commercial projects, from both government and non-government sectors.

Nominations are open in February each year.  Information will be available on the website at this time.
