Community Impact Grants 2011/2012 - Round 2
The City of Ballarat Community Impact Grant Committee is pleased to have allocated grant funding to 31 community organisations and not for profit groups in the municipality.
The grant program encourages organisations to build community relations, create connections and improve health and wellbeing opportunities.

Community Impact Grants 2011/2012- Round One
The City of Ballarat Community Impact Grant Committee is pleased to have allocated grant funding to 32 community organisations and not for profit groups in the municipality.

The Community Impact Grants have funded a number of innovative and interesting projects and events, the following are a snap shot of some of the recipients that have benefitted from Council funding:
Families of Ballarat & Surrounds Playgroup
Families of Ballarat & Surrounds Playgroup (FOBS) is a network of families that meet up to 4 times per week for activities that provide socialising opportunities for children and their parents.
FOBS facilitate a socially inclusive program that seeks to provide support for often isolated younger parents and the opportunity for their children to learn and develop motor skills, confidence and experience creative play. For the regular weekly event there is a gold coin donation, special events are also offered (costs vary).
FOBS identified a need for an inclusive style of playgroup that provides support to parents and promotes early social skills for the children.
The Parent Group has over 300 members, with the opportunity to meet up to 4 times a week. This group organise and promote socially inclusive, child focussed sessions, based at the Delacombe Primary School.
It is anticipated that the Parent Group will experience steady growth in membership over the next 12 months and due to this anticipated growth the Community Impact Grants have provided funding for:

Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society - The Weekly Times Rural Lifestyle Expo
The Weekly Times Rural Lifestyle Expo aims to showcase products, services, innovations and livestock, targetted to the small "rural lifestyle" property owner.
The Expo will provide information to learn more about:
- Animal health
- Land Management
- Sustainable energy
- Farm Machinery
- Alternative breeds
- Composting
- Growing organic vegetables
- Improving pasture
- Fencing, and much more
There will be the chance to listen to expert speakers, view practical demonstrations and browse through multiple trade stalls.
The Weekly Times Rural Lifestyle Expo brings together a number of key stakeholders, including:
- Regional Development Victoria
- Department of Planning and Community Development
- The Shires of Hepburn, Pyrenees, Golden Plains, Moorabool and City of Ballarat
- The Weekly Times
- WIN Television

Urgent Need Grants
To assist community groups with those unexpected and unforeseen funding requirements Council offers the Urgent Need Grants.
Applications are open all year round and can be lodged at any time. This program is designed to be fast, flexible and responsive to the needs of community.
Please read the guidelines and complete the application form. Alternatively these guidelines and application form can be obtained from Customer Service , Phoenix Building, 25 Armstrong Street South.
