Disc
Golf

Disc golf is now in Ballarat! Get your flying discs ready and head down to Victoria Park to start your 18-hole round.

Disc golf is similar to traditional golf. Instead of hitting a ball with a club, players throw a disc from the tee pad to a basket. The aim of the game is to complete each hole in the fewest throws possible.

Where can you play disc golf in Ballarat?

An 18-hole course has been set up in Victoria Park, Ballarat.

The start of the course is at Plane Avenue and Cedar Drive, and along Elm Avenue.

To find the next hole, check the base of each basket for an arrow to show you the direction of the next tee.

How do you play disc golf?

With your disc, start at the tee pad. The tee sign has information about the hole, including the hole number, par, distance, and a map of the fairway. Use a driving throw to get started and a putting throw when you get close to the basket.

How and where do you get discs from?

If you have flying discs at home, you can use those on the disc golf course.

The City of Ballarat offers a free hire service for the local community to use at their leisure.

Families may hire up to 5 discs per booking.

The hiring of discs for your school, community or sporting group is free with a maximum of 40 discs available per hire group.

As this is a courtesy program, the collection and return of discs is the sole responsibility of the person/s filing in the hire form.

Discs are to be collected from the Ballarat Aquatic & Lifestyle Centre.

Discs must be collected on hire day and returned immediately after use on the same day of the hire.
