The Ballarat Visitor Information Centre has introduced a new 90-minute Brilliantly Ballarat Walking Tour, offering locals and visitors a fresh way to explore the city’s stories, streets, and heritage.

Developed in response to visitor demand and led by the friendly Visitor Servicing experts, the tours explore key landmarks alongside lesser-known sites, sharing stories of people, places, and moments that shaped Ballarat.

The format blends historical context with lighter anecdotes and surprising details, making the experience accessible for a wide range of audiences.

City of Ballarat Mayor, Cr Tracey Hargreaves said this is a great new offering for both visitors and locals.

“These tours give people the chance to see Ballarat from a different perspective,” she said.

“They not only uncover stories behind the streets but also help visitors feel confident exploring the city afterwards.”

The tours are an easy, hosted activity for residents when friends and relatives are visiting Ballarat, offering a structured way to showcase the city without needing to plan an itinerary.

The tour departs from the Ballarat Visitor Information Centre at Town Hall. At the conclusion of the tour, participants will receive recommendations on must-visit places, encouraging further exploration of Ballarat and supporting our local businesses.

The walking route covers approximately 850 metres, includes regular stops, and is suitable for all fitness levels. Tours run regularly throughout the week, with departure times listed online.

Tickets are priced at $12.50 per person, with bookings available via the Experience Oz website.
