Draft Onsite Wastewater Management Plan 2025–2029

City of Ballarat residents are invited to have their say on the Draft Onsite Wastewater Management Plan 2025–2029.

Onsite wastewater management systems, such as septic tank systems, play a vital role in protecting human health, drinking water supplies and the environment. Community members are invited to help shape the plan that will guide the management of these systems across the municipality.

To view the draft plan and provide feedback, visit the City of Ballarat MySay page at mysay.ballarat.vic.gov.au.

Alternatively, you can request a hard copy of the questionnaire with a reply-paid envelope by calling the City of Ballarat on 5320 5500 or emailing environentalhealth@ballarat.vic.gov.au

Hard copies can also be collected in person from Customer Service at The Phoenix, 25 Armstrong Street South, Ballarat Central.

Domestic Animal Management Plan 2026–2029

City of Ballarat residents are invited to have their say on the future of animal management in the community as it develops a new Domestic Animal Management Plan (DAMP) 2026–2029.

The DAMP is a legislated four-year plan that outlines how Council manages domestic animals (particularly cats and dogs) through education, services, and local laws. It also addresses broader animal welfare, including livestock and small pets.

Community members can participate by completing a short online survey via MySay at mysay.ballarat.vic.gov.au.

Let’s Chat Councillor Roadshow

Council is currently hosting in person drop-in sessions within each ward. The sessions provide an opportunity for ratepayers and residents to give ward-specific feedback to their Councillor and help shape the future direction of the City of Ballarat.
