Road Closures: Ballarat Winter Festival
The 2025 Ballarat Winter Festival will be held from 5 July – 27 July 2025. To cater for the festival build, operation and dismantle, the following road closures will occur:
Pop up ice-skating rink
Armstrong Street South from Sturt Street to the rear of the Town Hall will be closed from 5am on Monday, 23 June until 5pm on Friday, 1 August 2025. The road may re-open earlier subject to weather conditions
Please note:
- Access to Bath Lane will be maintained.
- Access to the Myer loading dock will be unimpeded as delivery vehicles will be able to access the loading dock via Dana Street (not Sturt Street).
- The Ballarat Information Centre long vehicle / caravan parking at rear (south) of the Town Hall will be temporarily relocated to the front of the Town Hall in Sturt Street.
- The Taxi Rank outside Myer will be temporarily relocated to two angled ¼ hour car parks out the front of the Central Square Post Office, Phoenix Mall, Armstrong Street South.
Pop up Spiegeltent
The centre median of the Armstrong Street intersection of Sturt Street will be closed from 5am Monday, 30 June until 5pm Thursday, 24 July. The road may re-open earlier subject to weather conditions.
Please note:
- Traffic flow will be maintained in both directions of travel along Sturt Street.
- All traffic travelling south bound along Armstrong Street North will be diverted at the corner of Sturt Street.

Waste vouchers expire soon
Don't forget your annual City of Ballarat waste vouchers for the Ballarat Transfer Station expire on 30 July 2025! Beat the end-of-July rush and use your vouchers early by heading to the Ballarat Transfer Station soon. It's a great way to tidy up before winter really sets in.
Eligible material includes green waste and general household waste. Excludes all other items, including mattresses, soil and rocks, asbestos, tyres and fridges/air conditioners.
A quick reminder...please be kind to staff. They are there to help and appreciate your patience especially during busy times!
