Get ready to ride Ballarat, Biketober is back for 2026 and registrations are now open.

This is the fourth year that the City of Ballarat has participated in the annual Love to Ride event, with registered users able to track their kilometres and trails through the app or website.

But it is more than just a month-long celebration of cycling – it’s a way for the City of Ballarat to understand rider behaviour. The more we understand, the more we can assist in planning active transport routes and supporting residents in their active transport journeys.

So, whether you are riding to work, exploring local trails, enjoying family rides or challenging friends and family to clock up the kilometres, Biketober is for you. It’s all about getting active, having fun and making cycling part of your routine.

The City of Ballarat continues to invest in active transport infrastructure through the implementation of its Active Transport Strategy, helping create safer and more connected routes for people choosing to walk, ride or roll around the municipality.

Biketober is an opportunity for residents to experience the benefits of cycling while connecting with their community and environment.

Why not celebrate the arrival of spring and get out and about to see the city from a different perspective.

Every trip taken by bike instead of by car can make a positive difference. Cycling is good for our physical and mental wellbeing, reduces traffic congestion and supports our goal of creating a more sustainable and connected city.

The best part is that anyone can get involved. You can ride with family and friends, encourage your workplace to take part, set personal goals, and even go into the running to win prizes through Love to Ride.

Registrations are open now. Visit lovetoride.net/australia to sign up.
