  • Government agencies responsible for distributing information suitable for the wider community
  • Groups offering free activities that contribute to local community inclusiveness or cultural vibrancy

  • Nearest bus stops: Little Bridge Street and Curtis Street

Responsibilities

All activities are to be self-sufficient. Users are responsible for the following:

  • Set up and pack up of activity within booking time
  • Provide all equipment and materials
  • Promoting the activity to the community
  • Leave the site clean and tidy
  • Prompt return of any keys/equipment borrowed from the City of Ballarat

Prohibited Items and Activities

The following are not permitted:

  • Animal farms, petting zoos, pony rides
  • Amusement rides
  • Pegs or stakes in the ground (All marquees must be secured with weights)
  • Decorations attached to trees

Behaviour Standards

All users must:

  • Act respectfully at all times
  • Avoid offensive and explicit language
  • Not engage in aggressive or threatening behaviour
  • Not interfere with others
  • Not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Keep noise to reasonable levels

  • A not-for-profit incorporated organisation
  • Have a registered address within the City of Ballarat
  • Have at least 75% of members residing in Ballarat

When planning your event will you be:

Using a PA system (only permitted in Time Place)?

If yes, you must ensure noise levels are kept in accordance with all Environmental Protection Authority Victoria guidelines.

Using marquees or stages (only permitted in Time Place)?

If yes, all marquees and stages must be weighed down and are not permitted to be pegged, pierced or tied to any Council asset.

If yes, buskers need to apply via the Busking Permit page. Cost $6

If yes, ensure all employees and volunteers hold Working with Children Checks.

Using a third-party contractor to provide goods or services in the space? (e.g. children’s entertainer, DJ, caterer, photographer, videographer)

 If yes, provide their valid $20M Public Liability Insurance.

If yes, complete Foodtrader application and include Statement of Trade.

If yes, please visit all surrounding hospitality businesses and let them know.

If you answer “No”, to all the above questions, then complete the Bridge Mall Spaces Registration Form and return via email.
If you answer “Yes”, to any of the above questions, then fill in the Local Law Activity Permit providing extra information for all points you answered “yes”.
