Garbage and Recycling Collection Days.

Please note: this calendar includes your recycling collection service.

Keep Clear.  Please don't place your garbage bin in close proximity to poles, cars or your recycling bin as this makes it too difficult for the truck lifter to access it. 

New, Damaged or Replacement Bins

Garbage bins in the City of Ballarat are purchased by the ratepayer.  Bins can be ordered by phone or purchased directly from Ballarat Regional Industries (BRI) at:

Garbage bins are available in 140 litre and 80 litre sizes to the public at a cost of $72.00 (GST inclusive) for 80 litre and $80.00 (GST inclusive) for 140 litre. Bins can be delivered within the municipality for an additional $15.00 (GST inclusive).

If your bin's lid, hinges or wheels are damaged, the parts can be purchased from Ballarat Regional Industries (BRI).  If the damage to your bin is unrepairable, then you will have to purchase a replacement bin. 

Garbage Bins can be paid for by credit card, eftpos, cash or cheque.

Recycle Bins are the property of the City of Ballarat and provided as a part of the cities recycling goals.  Bins are 240 litre and have a yellow lid to demote recycling.

Contact the council if you require a new recycling bin or if your bin is stolen or damaged.  

Not everything that can be recycled can be recycled through your recycling bin.  As a rule, your yellow lidded kerbside bin can be used to recycle paper and cardboard and all rigid disposable food and drink containers.  See pictures below.
