The City of Ballarat has a number of traffic signs on its local roads, including regulatory signs and warning signs. An assessment prior to the installation of each sign is required relative to VicRoads guidelines. To request a new traffic sign or maintenance of an existing sign please contact Customer Service on 03 5320 5500.

Persons or bodies seeking approval to use tourist attraction and/or services signs within Council road reserves should should contact Customer Service on 03 5320 5500. In many cases the application will need to be passed on to, or at least co-managed by, a VicRoads Regional Signing Officer.

In many cases traffic, tourist and services signs are required, however the City of Ballarat is trying to minimise the installation of signs where possible to avoid proliferation and make tourist and services signs easier to comprehend and more effective.
