New Hoon Hotline

The State Government has recently incorporated a "Hoon Hotline" component within the existing Crimestoppers service to provide the wider community with the opportunity to report dangerous and irresponsible driver behaviour via a single telephone hotline.

Members of the public will now be able to report hoon activity to police by telephoning Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. (Callers to Crime Stoppers do not have to give their name)

Since July 2006, over 4000 vehicles have been impounded in Victoria at a rate of approximately 70 per week.

The local City of Ballarat 1800 11 4666 (HOON) has been replaced by the Crime Stoppers service on 1800 333 000 which will service the state-wide community.
