POWERLINES AND TREES
Street trees
The City of Ballarat has a regulatory requirement under the Electricity Safety (Electric Line Clearance) Regulations 2010 to maintain street trees clear of powerlines within the Declared Area. The Declared Area is essentially all of the urban area of Ballarat.

Within Council’s Declared Area there are a few locations labelled as Hazardous Bushfire Risk Areas and the clearance pruning in these areas is normally completed just prior to the 1st December each year.

Private trees
Powerline/tree clearance for private trees adjacent to street powerlines, and also around powerlines outside the Declared Area, is the responsibility of Powercor. For enquiries regarding this program, contact Powercor through its agent Vemco at 5338 3300.
