Are you looking at buying an established food premises and want to know what work is required at the premises if it was to transfer?

Council's Environmental Health Unit offers a pre-transfer requested inspection that provides you with a report of all issues that must be addressed for the premises. This report can be utilised as a bargaining tool prior to settlement and gives you an idea of the workload required at the premises.

These forms Registered Premises Request Form and Request for Information Form must be filled in and returned with payment of $156.20 prior to the inspection being undertaken. Please note: it generally takes between 5 -7 working days for the inspection and report to be completed, so ensure that you leave enough time prior to transfer for this to be completed.

Application

Application to transfer - must be completed and returned to Council with payment of $156.20 prior to taking over the business.

An Environmental Health Officer will then conduct a transfer inspection to assess the premises from compliance under the Food Act 1984, Food Standards Code and Food Safety Standards.
