OPENING A NEW FOOD PREMISES
Once you have decided to go ahead with your new business it is recommended that you contact our office to discuss your business proposal.
A copy of your premises plans must be submitted to this office prior to commencement of construction works. An Environmental Health Officer will either approve your plans in writing or contact you regarding alterations and amendments within 5-7 working days.
Additional approvals may also be required therefore below are some of the other units and organisations that contact should be made with when considering opening a new business. Please note this is not an exhaustive list.

After the registration is processed you will be sent a certificate of registration and an Environmental Health Officer will conduct an inspection of your business prior to opening. Registration is required to be renewed every 12 months from the date of the initial registration and random inspections will be carried out by Environmental Health Officers during the year.

Application Form
Application to Register - this form is to be fully completed and returned with required payment prior to opening your new food premises. Payment depends on your business classification, please refer to the food safety section of this website for classification information.
Once we have received your information and payment an Environmental Health Officer will make a time to inspect the premises prior to opening.
