The City of Ballarat’s Central Kindergarten Registration Scheme is an initiative to ensure the whole community has access to a fair, equitable and timely system for processing kindergarten enrolments. The centralised system replaces individual applications and endeavours to secure a place at the preferred centre.

Application for Registration forms for children to attend kindergarten are accepted from the beginning of the year prior to a child attending 3 year old kindergarten or two years prior to attending 4 year old kindergarten. If your child will be four years old by 30 April in the year that they will attend 4 year old kindergarten you can submit an Application for Registration form through the City of Ballarat Central Registration Scheme.

We encourage families to submit their applications by 30 June each year, however registrations will still be accepted after this time.

First round offers for four-year-old kindergarten places are sent out at the beginning of August for the following year. Applicants are encouraged to respond to their offer as detailed in the letter. Second round offers are sent in September, with any subsequent offers made as vacancies become available.

Please call Family and Children’s Services on 5320 5720 or email if you have any questions.
