Ballarat is a proud and dedicated Child Friendly City
In November 2013, the City of Ballarat was the first municipality to become a signatory to the Victorian Child Friendly City Communities Charter. The City of Ballarat is dedicated to strengthening and developing its commitment as a premier city for children and families.
Under the guidance of the Child Friendly Ballarat Advisory Committee, the City of Ballarat and Council supports and promotes consideration of the needs of children. This includes installing seats at the right height for children, providing shade at playgrounds for protection from the sun, and delivering early literacy programs, as well as listening to children and including them in decision-making processes.
The Child Friendly Ballarat Advisory Committee welcomes new members. For more information, contact the City of Ballarat Family & Children’s Services Manager at 5320 5720.
