BONSHAW EARLY LEARNING CENTRE

Project to deliver:

  • Two new kindergarten rooms (with 66 places)
  • Two maternal and child health consulting rooms
  • A multipurpose community space to accommodate parents’ groups,
    playgroups and other community activities

Project cost: $1.6 million from the Victorian Government Children’s Capital Program

Project status: Offsite construction by Arkit has begun

Completion: Estimated completion in early 2018

Other points: Sebastopol West Kindergarten will relocate to Bonshaw ELC

LUCAS COMMUNITY HUB

The project:

  • Two new kindergarten rooms (with 66 places)
  • The provision of occasional care services (including school holiday
    program) to enable extended hours for children enrolled in kindergarten
    programs
  • Three maternal and child health consulting rooms
  • Consulting rooms for visiting services such as early childhood
    intervention and family support services
  • Multipurpose community meeting spaces and informal spaces that can
    accommodate activities such as playgroups, lifelong learning programs
    and parenting groups
  • Kitchen

Project cost: $2.4 million from the City of Ballarat and $1.6 million from Victorian Government Children’s Capital Program

Project status: Works were completed in December 2017.

 

Lucas Hub Plan

 

 

 

IRIS RAMSAY KINDERGARTEN

Project to deliver: A new kindergarten room (22 places), increased and improved bathroom facilities, a new kitchen and storage

Project cost: $522,235 from the Victorian Government Children’s Capital Program

Project status:

  • Building complete and operational
  • Front gate and fence still to be installed (by mid-September). Official opening to be held around September.

Completion: Staff and children moved into the facility at the beginning of Term 3, 2017.

GIRRABANYA CHILDREN’S CENTRE

Project to deliver: 

  • A refurbished centre including a new kindergarten room to accommodate 33 children
  • An overall increase of 22 long-day- care places
  • Rehousing of occasional care services (OCC) currently located in Market Street

Project cost: $1.25 million from the Victorian Government Children’s Capital Program

Project status: Detailed design work completed by Morton Dunn, and construction contract awarded to local company Searle Bros.

Completion: November 2018

 

 

MOUNT PLEASANT KINDERGARTEN

Project to deliver:

  • An upgraded kindergarten facility including the provision of a second
    kindergarten room / community space to accommodate an additional
    22 children

Project cost: $750,000 from the Victorian Government Children’s Capital Program

Project Status: Detailed design now complete, and construction contract awarded to Masterson Builders.

Completion: November 2018
