Kindergarten Projects

 

BONSHAW EARLY LEARNING CENTRE

The Bonshaw Early Learning Centre in Morgan Street, Sebastopol, is on track to open in Term 2, 2018. The Centre includes the provision of:

  • two new kindergarten rooms (with 66 places)
  • two Maternal and Child Health consulting rooms
  • a multipurpose community space to accommodate parent groups, playgroups and other community activities

Bonshaw

The building was constructed off-site and delivered in nine modules in November 2017.

Sebastopol West Kindergarten, operated by ECKA, will relocate to Bonshaw ELC in Term 2, 2018.

This project was funded with $1.6 million from the Victorian Government Children’s Capital Program.

 

 

IRIS RAMSAY KINDERGARTEN

This kindergarten upgrade includes the provision of:

  • A new kindergarten room (22 places)
  • increased and improved bathroom facilities
  • a new kitchen
  • storage facilities

Iris Ramsay

Construction is complete and the kindergarten is fully operational. Staff and children moved into the facility at the beginning of Term 3, 2017.

This project was funded with $522,235 from the Victorian Government Children’s Capital Program, and the upgraded facility was officially opened by Minister Jenny Mikakos on 1 February, 2018.

 


GIRRABANYA INTEGRATED CHILDREN'S CENTRE

This upgrade includes the provision of:

  • A refurbished centre including a new kindergarten room to accommodate 33 children
  • An overall increase of 22 long-day-care places
  • Rehousing of occasional care services now located in Market Street
  • Upgraded foyer, meeting space and kitchen

Girrabanya

This project is funded with $1.25 million from the Victorian Government Children’s Capital Program.

It is anticipated that construction will start in March 2018 and be completed by the end of 2018.

MOUNT PLEASANT KINDERGARTEN

This upgrade includes the provision of:

  • A second kindergarten room/community space to accommodate an additional
    22 children
  • Upgraded toilet and kitchen facilities
  • Improved storage facilities
  • Upgraded foyer

This project is funded with $750,000 from the Victorian Government Children’s Capital Program.

Construction works have begun and it is anticipated that works will be complete by November 2018.

The Engaging Communities Program is operating in Mt Pleasant, and the Mt Pleasant Recreation Reserve Masterplan is in draft form.
