Kindergarten Projects

 

LUCAS COMMUNITY HUB

Project to deliver:

  • Two new kindergarten rooms with 66 places
  • Three maternal and child health consulting rooms
  • Occasional care for the kindergarten program
  • Consulting rooms for visiting services such as early childhood intervention and family support services
  • Multipurpose community meeting spaces for playgroups, lifelong learning programs and parenting groups

Project cost: $2.4 million from the City of Ballarat and $1.6 million from Victorian Government

Project status: Underway. Construction by local company AW Nicholson Pty Ltd is progressing well.

Completion: On track for completion and opening in January 2018.

Lucas Hub Plan

 

 

BONSHAW EARLY LEARNING CENTRE

Project to deliver:

  • Two new kindergarten rooms with 66 places
  • Two maternal and child health consulting rooms
  • Multipurpose community space for parents groups, playgroups and other community activities

Project cost: $1.6 million from Victorian Government

Project status: Project status: Underway. The centre is in preliminary structural design with off-site construction to being in Winter 2017.

Completion: On track for completion and opening in early 2018.

Bonshaw Plan

 

 

IRIS RAMSAY KINDERGARTEN

Project to deliver:

  • New kindergarten room with 22 places (replacing current temporary portable building)
  • Increased and improved bathroom facilities and storage
  • Accessible car space on site

Project cost: $522,235 from Victorian Government

Project status: Underway. Ballarat-based company, 4Front Construction is completing final works.

Completion: On track for completion and opening in Term 3, 2017.

 


GIRRABANYA CHILDREN’S CENTRE

Project to deliver: 

  • Expansion to kindergarten and long day care facilities, with 22 new places
  • Relocation of City of Ballarat Occasional Child Care (OCC) services currently located in Market Street
  • Improvements to the entrance and amenities

Project cost: $1.25 million from Victorian Government

Project status: Ballarat firm Morton Dunn Architects is completing detailed design work. Tenders for construction work are scheduled for release in late 2017 with initial construction to start in Summer. Works will be staged and programmed to minimise impact on existing kindergarten, long day care and maternal and child health services.

Completion: Late 2018

 

 

MOUNT PLEASANT KINDERGARTEN

Project to deliver:

  • A new kindergarten room with 22 places
  • Flexible space for community activities
  • Improvements to amenities and a new kindergarten entrance

Project cost: $750,000 from Victorian Government

Project Status: Ballarat firm Morton Dunn Architects has completed the detailed design work, which was presented to the community at the local consultation session on 20 April. The next steps are permit applications construction tenders in 2017.

Completion: Construction works are scheduled from late 2017 to early 2018, during holiday periods to minimise impact on existing kindergarten programs.
