Eureka Aquatic Centre 

Project: Eureka Aquatic Centre Outdoor Water Play Facility and facility improvement works 

Location: Eureka Aquatic Centre, Stawell Street, Ballarat 

Project status: COMPLETE 

Project cost: $750,000

A new $550,000 outdoor water play facility is currently being constructed at the Eureka Aquatic Centre. 

The new play space facility will be 335m2 in size and will be ready for play in time for the 2015/16 summer season. 

Fully funded by the City of Ballarat, the new facility is based on the popular Midlands Outdoor Water Play Facility in Ballarat North and will be bigger in size. 

Designed for all age groups the water play facility will also feature a section specifically aimed at our city's youth. 

$200,000 in additional works have also been delivered as part of the project:

  • Improvement works to the existing kiosk
  • Upgrade to existing change rooms
  • Removal of the water slide for safety reasons
  • 50 metre pool has been cleaned and re-painted
  • Toddlers pool has been cleaned and re-painted

Sebastopol Water Play - COMPLETETop of document.

Project: Sebastopol Outdoor Water Play Facility - COMPLETE 

Location: Victory Park, Vickers Street, Sebastopol 

Project status: COMPLETE 

Project cost: $550,000

A new outdoor water play facility is under construction at Victory Park in Vickers Street, Sebastopol. 

The $550,000 outdoor water play facility will be ready for play in time for the 2015/16 summer season. 

Fully funded by the City of Ballarat, the new facility is based on the popular Midlands Water Play facility in Ballarat North.

Designed for all age groups the facility features an exciting variety of spray features, including tipping buckets, towering spray features, soaking run-through water tunnel and a four way water cannon fight. 

The splash pad also has a safe, quieter play zone for smaller children to explore aquatic play safety away from the bigger splashes and faster moving fun. 

During the cooler months the space will be converted into an informal sports court. 

Use of the facility will be FREE.

Landscaping and path works are also included as part of the project.

Black Hill Aquatic Centre - COMPLETETop of document.

Project: Black Hill Aquatic Centre re-opening project  

Location: Black Hill Aquatic Centre, Chisholm Street, Black Hill 

Project status: COMPLETE  

Project cost: $190,000

The Black Hill Aquatic Centre will re-open in time for the 2015/16 summer season. 

Improvement works to improve the functionality and aesthetics of the facility are currently underway. 

$190,000 in upgrade works are underway and include:

  • sewerage connection
  • reinstatement of plant equipment
  • new roof over change rooms 
  • new shade structure
  • new BBQ
  • new seating

Midlands Outdoor Water Play Facility - COMPLETETop of document.

Project: Upgrade works at Midlands Outdoor Water Play Facility 

Location: Midlands Reserve, Ballarat North 

Project status: COMPLETE 

$30,000 in upgrade works are almost complete. 

The project has delivered:

- A new double BBQ 
- A new bike rack
- New bench seating near the BBQ area 
- Additional bins 

- New additional shade structure over the new BBQ and bench seating 


The Midlands Outdoor Water Play Facility, located in Doveton Street, Ballarat North is now open.
