The City of Ballarat began working with the Burrumbeet Community on ‘The Burrumbeet Plan: Our Community Towards 2040’ in March 2016. The Plan will give the Burrumbeet Community a long-term vision and action plan. It will help the community and City of Ballarat manage change in Burrumbeet into the future.
The Burrumbeet Plan is part of a broader ‘Local Plans for our Townships’ program which will develop local plans for each of Ballarat’s six townships.
The Burrumbeet plan will:
Reflect the community’s long-term vision and provide an action plan for meeting this vision
Help community groups make their case when applying for grants or lobbying for funding
Help the City of Ballarat prioritise its investment in Burrumbeet
Identify land use planning actions and potential changes to the Ballarat Planning Scheme
Include actions the community can deliver itself
Help the community and City of Ballarat to manage change.
The Burrumbeet Plan needs to be the community’s plan, not just Council’s plan. With this in mind, Council will consult with the people of Burrumbeet in multiple stages. The consultation program began with a drop in session during March as well as a questionnaire sent out at the same time. We have compiled this feedback into a draft Township Plan and would like to present it to you for discussion on Tuesday 6th September 2016.
Council is now seeking feedback to the DRAFT 'The Burrumbeet Plan: Our Community Towards 2040' and a submission cover sheet can be downloaded below.
The closing date for responses is 7 October 2016.
Submissions should be returned to The Phoenix Building, 25 Armstrong Street South, Ballarat. Posted to Burrumbeet Plan Team - Strategic Planning, City of Ballarat, PO Box 655, Ballarat, Vic, 3353. Or can be emailed directly to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you would like to know more about the draft plan please contact the Strategic Planning Team at the City of Ballarat by calling (03) 5320 5500 or by emailing email@example.com
