Wanting to Book a Space?

The City of Ballarat has a variety of open spaces available for use by the community for recreation activities.

You will be required to submit an application to book the space depending on the type of event you wish to conduct.

Event:

An organised set of inclusive activities undertaken at a predetermined date and time on Council Controlled land:

• These activities must be non-political in nature and not offend nor limit attendance or participation. 
• These activities also tend to be restricted by virtue of a requirement for a Council permit prior to approval (such as the placement of items on Council controlled land, eg. Jumping Castle).
• These event activities also tend to require effective management of potential nuisances or detrimental impacts on the community by Council.

Activity:

Activities undertaken on Council controlled land at a venue specifically tailored for that purpose with Council permission without exceeding this use (such as a soccer game on a Council Soccer pitch)  does not constitute an event.  This merely requires the booking of the space. 

Activity Booking Application – this form is used when a group is requesting to use an oval for sports activities e.g. cricket, football, school sports.
