Sports Precincts

The City of Ballarat with support from Sport and Recreation Victoria, has developed a Sports Precinct Strategy aimed at providing technical solutions to the problems created at local sporting venues by ongoing water restrictions which prevent the irrigation of grass based sports grounds

The strategy examines Council’s position in the provision of grass based sporting venues for a range of sports played on ovals, rectangular pitches and diamonds. Council has prepared the following position which state Council’s intent of provision of maintenance and infrastructure investment in relation to grass based sports venues:
