Celebrate Australia Day in Ballarat at Lake Wendouree with FREE live entertainment followed by the 3BA Skyworks Spectacular.
Pack a picnic, chairs and rugs and join the fun at Windmill Drive, next to the Adventure Playground at Lake Wendouree.
Hosted by the City of Ballarat, the event is alcohol free.
Free entertainment kicks off from 5pm and features:
5 to 5.30pm KangaKapers
The big fluffy Kanga Kapers will play their funky music around the Australia Day site and on the main stage with quirky twists on modern classics.
5.30 to 6pm Pink Moon
Featuring a fantastic mix of blues classics, country stompers, classy jazz numbers, alternative rock tunes, and contemporary hits, Pink Moon will play popular songs from the 50s to now and some classic rock anthems.
6 to 6.45pm Kanga Kapers
7 to 7.45pm Aussie Rocks!
This rock’n’roll duo has worked with some of greatest names in the music industry including Tom Jones and Jimmy Barnes. Gillian & Terry combine their extensive musical know-how and experience working on ABC KIDS projects to bring rock’n’roll straight from the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s onto the main stage for kids and adults to enjoy.
7.45 to 8pm Mayor’s Welcome - Cr Des Hudson
8 to 9pm Electric Intent
Electric Intent recreate the distinct sounds of bands like U2, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, AC/DC, Dire Straits, Crowded House, The Beatles, Elvis, Guns ‘n Roses, Pink Floyd and Ben E King - encompassing most genres of live music.
9pm – 3BA Skyworks Spectacular
Food vendors will be available on site including Just Chips, Bean Me Up Espresso, Baskerville Jaffles, Ballarat East Men’s Shed and The Icecream Truck.
IMPORTANT INFO FOR RESIDENTS
Alcohol Free Zone
The Ballarat Botanical Gardens and the Lake Wendouree foreshore will be an alcohol free zone from 3pm.
The City of Ballarat advises that no parking restrictions apply around the Lake precinct, but recommends that care be taken when leaving this area due to the increased amount of traffic expected.
Lake Wendouree closure
Lake Wendouree is closed for all waterway activities due to the Australia Day fireworks display from 6pm to 11.30pm on Australia Day.
Take care of your pets
Residents are encouraged to take care of their pets during the fireworks display. Please ensure your pets are kept secure and indoors if needed.
