New Work/Development within a Heritage Area - Winner

143 Wendouree Parade, Lake Wendouree
Owner: J. Kroussoratis
Architect: Project Now

The original dwelling that was solid masonry was beyond repair however this new home picks up elements of the original home and surrounding buildings in the streetscape: keeping the memory of what was there alive. At great expense the owners have kept the original tree and made the garage less prominent by the use of a curved drive and character plantings. Through the  exceptional use of timber windows, rough cast rendering, rafter tails, bay window and original inspired roof pitch this home has been very well received in the community. High quality design allows this house to sit in the heritage streetscape well without overly drawing attention to itself to the detriment of the surrounding heritage places and facilitates modern living.
